Dave Sopchak

Dave Sopchak, 53, resident of Kenefick, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in Houston, Texas. He was born on December 9, 1965, in Houston, Texas, to Joseph Thomas Sopchak and Ruth Ellen Pittman. He attended Dayton High School and Stephen F. Austin University. 

Dave enjoyed watching football and was an avid Houston Texans fan. He had numerous hobbies, all of which kept him busy. Dave maintained his exceptional vegetable garden and fruit tree orchard. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing. He also loved carpentry and created marvelous wood furniture pieces. 

Dave was a loving son, father, brother, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Dave was preceded in death by his father Joseph. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Ruth Pittman of Kenefick his daughter Alyssa Kay Sopchak of Kenefick; his sisters Sheryl Donahoe of Washington, Darlene DeSoto and husband Eddie, Sr. of Kenefick, and Linda DeWees of Kenefick; his numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at 6pm on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, 3536 FM 1008, Dayton, TX.
