Calvin Ray Arnold

Calvin Ray Arnold, 67 of Dayton, Texas passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2018 in Dayton, Texas. He was born in Liberty, Texas on August 21, 1951 to the late Floyd Arnold and Mary Lee James. Calvin was raised by his Aunt Margaret Webb throughout his life. He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1969. Calvin was a hard worker and worked most of his life in the construction field before he retired.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; Aunt Margaret Webb; and grandchild, Cassandra Arnold.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his son, Donnie Arnold; daughters, Dawn Arnold and son-in-law Peter Pate, Kim and husband John Helton and Tracy and husband Billy Stephens; step children, Karen Campbell, Guy and Beverly Humphrey and Richard and Gayle Leonard; grandchildren, William Helton, Misty Helton, Christofer Arnold, Anistyn Flores, Heather Burton; siblings, Tammy Wright and Scott Webb; and many more family and friends.

Before creating Bluebonnet News in 2018, Vanesa Brashier was a community editor for the Houston Chronicle/Houston Community Newspapers. During part of her 12 years at the newspapers, she was assigned as the digital editor and managing editor for the Humble Observer, Kingwood Observer, East Montgomery County Observer and the Lake Houston Observer, and the editor of the Dayton News, Cleveland Advocate and Eastex Advocate. Over the years, she has earned more than two dozen writing awards, including Journalist of the Year.
