Subway in Splendora hit by robbers for second time in a week

A van thought to be involved in several robberies in the area was located Tuesday evening in Cleveland.

The Splendora Subway restaurant, located at 14717 US 59, was hit by thieves around 4 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, just days after a similar robbery on Jan. 18.

According to Lt. Troy Teller with Splendora Police Department, two black males entered the store on Tuesday and removed the cash drawer from the register before fleeing in an older model white Ford van.

On Jan. 18, two black males reportedly robbed the restaurant around 11 p.m. In that incident, they grabbed the cash register from the countertop and fled the store. One of the two suspects reportedly struck the store employee when confronted.
