Margaret Kay “Mitzi” Shirley

Margaret Kay “Mitzi” Shirley, 66, of Moss Hill, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, TX with her family by her side.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at New Work Family Worship Center in Liberty, with Pastor Chris Contreras officiating, interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson. A gathering of Mrs. Shirley’s family and friends will be Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. also at New Work Family Worship Center in Liberty.

Honoring Mrs. Shirley as pallbearers will be Bubba Shirley, Will Shirley, Mark Shirley, Shane Zoeller, Jesse Shirley, Jerry Cook, Hunter Hutchins, Austin Shirley. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Breeland, Brittany Shirley, Kolby Wade, Kyle Shirley, Brian Wade, Faith Shirley, Jerry Copeland.

Margaret had lived in Moss Hill many years and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; Eugene Ralph Kress and Anna Alden Kress; brother, Mike Moeckel Kress; and sisters, Susan Allen, and Carolyn Opiela.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her loving husband of 43 years, James “J.W.” Shirley of Moss Hill; sons, Will Shirley and wife Melissa of Moss Hill, James “Bubba” Shirley and wife Maria of Moss Hill, Mark Shirley and wife Scarlett of Moss Hill; daughter, Crystal Zoeller and husband Shane of Floresville, TX; brother, Warren Kress and wife Brenda of Kingsville, TX; sisters, Cindy Gager and husband Hoarce of Channelview, TX, and Donna Kress of Channelview TX; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving and caring friends.
