The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is confirming that five people were killed in a shooting incident on the 3600 block of FM 3126 in Blanchard, west of Livingston. The incident was reported around 10:32 a.m. Monday to the sheriff’s office.
The call requested a response by the sheriff’s office and Allegiance EMS to the site of an assault involving multiple victims.
Sheriff Kenneth Hammack, in a Facebook post, said, “Troopers from the Texas Highway Patrol and Deputies arrived on scene discovering multiple victims from apparent gunshot wounds.”
An investigation is under way with sheriff detectives and the Texas Rangers.
“The scene is extremely fluid making it difficult to release information. Information will be made available at a designated time, to be announced,” the statement reads. “At this time we have five confirmed deceased at the residence.”
