Instagram threat against Cleveland administrators being investigated

Cleveland ISD officials are taking a threat of violence seriously and are investigating, according to Superintendent Darrell Myers.

A female high school student reportedly made the threat on the social media website, Instagram.

The threat was reported to the district through an anonymous tip.

“The tip claims the Instagram post threatens retaliation against school administrators, specifically by shooting them,” Myers said. “The tip identified the female high school student and our district police are working their way back to investigate.”

The female student could be charged for the threat of retaliation, he added.

The district released the following statement to the public: “Cleveland ISD has been made aware of violent threats posted on Instagram against our High School Administration. The Cleveland ISD Police Department is currently investigating these threats, and ensuring the safety of our High School students and staff.
