Splendora woman killed in crash

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a one-vehicle fatality crash at 1162 FM 2090 in Splendora on Feb. 20.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 4:16 p.m., a 2005 Chevrolet C2500 pickup was traveling westbound on FM 2090 when it veered off the south side of the roadway.  The Chevrolet came to rest in the tree line with minor damage.  It is believed the driver suffered a medical condition which caused the crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet is identified as 62-year-old Sherry Bowles from Splendora.  Bowles was pronounced deceased on scene.  The passenger, a 3-year-old female was transported to Memorial Herman Hospital as a precaution.

This is an ongoing investigation, and there is no additional information for release at this time.
