Tarkington students raise money for athletic booster club scholarship program

Hookin’ Lips for Scholarships, a fundraiser to benefit the Tarkington Athletic Booster Club’s scholarship program, was held Saturday, March 30, at the home of Scott and Mollie Lambert in Tarkington.

Participants each paid $25 to participate in the fishing tournament. Winners were awarded prizes and coupons from the event sponsor, El Burrito of Cleveland.

The winners and prizes were as follows:

  • First Place for Biggest Fish – Wyatt Snead, $100 Academy gift card
  • First Place for Number of Fish – Lance Hawthorne, $100 Academy gift card
  • Second Place for Number of Fish – Dawson Sanford, $75 Academy gift card
  • Third Place – Blake Crowsen, $50 Academy gift card
  • Fourth place – Landon Whitmire, fishing hat and spinner bait
  • Fifth Place – Dalton Callahan, fishing shirt
  • Youngest girl, Mackenzie Shirley, Makayla Shirley – Frozen and Star Wars pole
  • Smallest fish caught – Hayden Crawson, $20
  • Best Attitude, Best All Around – Brayden Evans, fishing tackle
