Lee Denman Sowell, Jr.

Lee Denman Sowell, Jr., 71, of Dayton, Texas passed away at home on Saturday March 30, 2019. Lee was born December 13, 1947 in Goose Creek, Texas to his parents, Lee Denman Sowell, Sr. and Daisy Haddock Sowell.

Services for Mr. Sowell will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Pace-Stancil in Dayton.

Lee was a former resident of Baytown and had been a resident of Dayton since 1992 and was the owner and operator of Lee’s Wrecker Service since 1997. He took great pride in being a first responder for Liberty County and loved working in and giving to his community. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the San Jacinto High Rollers motorcycle club. Lee also enjoyed building and working on race cars. Lee’s greatest joys came from spending time hanging out with his grandchildren.

Mr. Sowell was preceded in death by his parents; son: Jason Sowell; step-mother, Charlcie Sowell.
Lee is survived by his wife of 8 years, Bonnie Look Sowell; children, Lori Sowell, Anna McBride, Tiffany Sowell, Joseph Look, Michael Clark, Samatha Guest and husband, Travis, Heath McKinney, Deone McKinney, Robert McKinney and wife, Shauna; grandchildren, Makenzie, Krystal, Lee, III, Jhayden, Macy, Donahvan, Arian, Stormy, Haley, Jason, Laney, Libby, Layla, Austin, Nevaeh, Kayla, John, Alyssa, Shaylyn, Eli, Waylon, Bailey, Kara and Jenna; sister, Joyce Fuentes and husband, Ruben; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
