Body found on US 59 identified through forensic examinations

A body found on Feb. 3, 2019, along US 59 in Cleveland has been positively identified as Terry Wayne Haynes, 51, according to Cleveland Police Department spokesperson Capt. Scott Felts.

The identification was made with the assistance of the Forensic Medical Management of Texas and the Houston Forensic Science Center.

Haynes’ body was found by a passerby under the SH 105 loop along US 59. Detectives with Cleveland Police Department were called to the scene to investigate. Pct. 6 Justice of the Peace Ralph Fuller conducted an inquest.

Based on evidence at the scene, police believed that Haynes had been lying undiscovered along the roadway for several weeks.
