Clarence August Schmadl

Clarence August Schmadl, 86, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 13, 1933, in Crosby, Texas to the late Louis and Falecija Gaetz. After graduation from high school, Clarence proudly served his country as an Airman First Class with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Clarence worked most of his life in the construction business until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1442. Clarence was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Some of his hobbies included mowing, doing yard work, watching old western movies and spending time at home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings Martin Schmadl, Earl Schmadl, Tillie Womack and Alice Ripkowski. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his children Danny Schmadl and wife Tina, Diana Havens, Michael Schmadl and wife Mandy and Debbie Scroggins; his grandchildren Danny Schmadl, Jr. and wife Laura, Corey Schmadl and wife Kristi and Stephanie Schmadl Walsh and husband Ryan; his great-grandchildren Dacin, Tyler, Kaylee, Rhyder, Reese, Caden and Owen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Danny Schmadl, Jr., Corey Schmadl, Ryan Walsh, Tyler Segers, Mike Cody, and Scotty Walker.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10am in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton. A funeral service will be held at 11am, with Rev Bruce Burklow, officiating. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
