Joseph “Joe” Charles D’Angelo Collins

Joseph “Joe” Charles D’Angelo Collins, 18, of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 4, 2019, in Dayton, Texas. He was born on June 28, 2000, in Houston, Texas, the first child to Ronald and Angela D’Anne Chaplin-Collins. His family relocated to Dayton from the Highlands, when Joe was 11 years old. 

Joe was a loving son, grandson, big brother, nephew and friend to many. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and weightlifting. Joe also liked fast cars, racing, and NASCAR.

He also loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Joe was preceded in death by his mother Angela Chaplin-Collins; and his fraternal grandparents June and Edgar Barnes Whisenant. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving father Ronnie Collins; his sisters Sarah and Angela Collins; his maternal grandmother Gloria Donnor Chaplin; his maternal grandfather James Harvey Chaplin, Sr. and wife Sandy; his aunt Renee Marie Murphy; his uncles James Harvey Chaplin, Jr. and Thomas Jordan; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Before creating Bluebonnet News in 2018, Vanesa Brashier was a community editor for the Houston Chronicle/Houston Community Newspapers.
