Devers woman critically injured in accident on US 90 Friday

A woman may have accidentally pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler Friday afternoon around 1 p.m. on US 90 near CR 190 between Devers and Raywood. The woman, who is not being publicly identified at this time, was parked on the north shoulder of the westbound lane of travel just prior to the crash.

“She was on the correct side of the road and had turned on her hazard lights,” said Trooper Corey Prantil. “The truck driver she hit said she had been outside of her vehicle, possibly looking for something. She got back in her vehicle and pulled into the path of the truck.”

She missed hitting the cab of the truck but her vehicle was struck by the trailer, the trooper said.

The woman was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Her condition is unknown.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on US 90 near the accident scene was shut down for two hours while troopers painted the scene and took photos for the accident investigation. The road reopened around 3 p.m.
