Update: Recovered Caddy reported stolen in Liberty County

A little more information is now known about the vintage Cadillac that was pulled from a creek in Winter Valley Subdivision in Dayton on June 12.

The 1974 Cadillac was discovered by a group of children swimming in the creek. Their parents reported the vehicle to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

“The vehicle was reported as stolen out of Liberty County in 1976,” said Capt. Billy Knox with the sheriff’s office.

Because the records related to the stolen vehicle are old, no other information is likely to be found, he added.

“We have nothing else to go on because it’s such an old case. The state retains these records for only so long before they are purged,” he said.

The vehicle was pulled from the creek by Mainframe 24-Hour Wrecker Service, which provided the photos with this article.
