Deborah Joyce Franklin, 57, of Oak Island, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 24, 2019, in Anahuac, Texas. She was born on October 4, 1961, in Liberty, Texas to John H. and Shirley Plummer Franklin.
Debbie worked close to her father as a shrimper for over 40 years. He was so proud of her accomplishments and even said she was the best oyster fisherman around. Debbie was very mechanically inclined, working on everything she owned and doing it well. She was a blessing to her mother, always helping her out by lending a hand and always by her side when needed.
Debbie was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed listening to some good old country music. Debbie was also a fan of football and baseball, always rooting for the Texans, Cowboys and the Astros.
Debbie was preceded in death by her brother John H. Franklin, Jr.; her cousin Gordon Benson; and her aunt Betty Plummer Benson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her parents John H. and Shirley Franklin; her uncle Roger Plummer; her cousins Jessica Plummer Wallace and husband Sam, Cassie Plummer Burns and Roger Dale Plummer, Jr.; her nephew David Jianfortoni and wife Mandie; her great-nephew Cole Jianfortoni; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held for Debbie at 11am on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Community Christian Fellowship Church, 442 Eagle Road Oak Island, TX, with Bro Mark Pagels, officiating.
