A week after the disappearance of a 55-year-old man, Johnny Lowe, who was last seen in the Moss Bluff area in far south Liberty County, Texas EquuSearch is joining the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office in its search for clues.
Lowe was last seen in the early morning hours of June 27 on CR 133 North in Moss Bluff. Lowe had gone fishing and simply disappeared, said Capt. Ken DeFoor, spokesperson for the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.
Lowe’s dark-colored Ford Focus car has not been located. One of the distinguishing parts of the vehicle is a spotlight mounted near the roof.
A description of clothing is not available. However, Lowe has multiple tattoos on various parts of his body.
Sometime later this week, Texas EquuSearch Founder Tim Miller plans to evaluate conditions of the area where authorities believe Lowe disappeared, DeFoor said. However, recent flooding on the Trinity River may force searchers to postpone their efforts until the water recedes.
“Like the suicide case we had in Romayor last year, the first time we check, the water was too high and too swift. We waited three weeks and came back when the water was down, and was able to find the missing person,” DeFoor said.
Anyone with information about Lowe’s disappearance should contact the sheriff’s office at 936-336-4500 or 281-309-9500.
