Shooting, stabbing investigation under way in Shepherd

The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic disturbance that ended with one person being critically injured in a stabbing. The disturbance took place Thursday, Aug. 8, at a property on Oak Forest Drive at Regency Drive in Shepherd.

According to the sheriff’s office, preliminary information suggests that the man may have used a firearm to shoot in the direction of one of his family members. The stabbing allegedly followed.

The investigation is ongoing. The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office plans to release an official statement about the incident on Friday.

The man’s condition is unknown. He was taken by ground ambulance to a Houston-area trauma center for treatment.
