Daisetta PD planning warrant round-up week of Sept. 16-20

If you have an outstanding warrant for Daisetta Police Department, be warned. Police Chief Kelvin Burks says Daisetta Police Department, along with the Pct. 2 Constable’s Office, will be hosting a warrant round-up the week of Sept. 16-20.

Law enforcement officers will be going to people’s homes and businesses to make arrests in order to clear some of the nearly 800 outstanding warrants being held by Daisetta Police Department.

“During that week, if you have a warrant out of our office, we will have a no tolerance, no excuses, you-are-going-to-jail policy in effect,” according to a flyer posted by the police department.

To avoid the threat of a public embarrassment, Burks said it is imperative that the warrants be addressed immediately.

“If you don’t know if you have a warrant, call our office and check. We will gladly look it up for you,” the chief said. “We are not going to arrest anyone who is trying to take care of their tickets, but if you avoid it and don’t make arrangements, we are coming.”

To check the status of a warrant, call Tiffiny Tucker at Daisetta Municipal Court at 936-536-6120. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
