The Dayton Bronco Volleyball team hosted the C. E. King Panthers Friday night. The Broncos honored their faculty with Faculty Appreciation night. It was a packed side for the Broncos as they swept the Panthers from King.
The Freshman team won in 2 25-12 and 25-19 while the JV split, losing the first set 22-25, but bounced back winning the second and third sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-17, respectively.
The varsity won in three sets – 25-13, 25-19 and 25-13.
Leading the way for the Broncos was Skyler Wagner with 11 kills, four solo blocks and three assisted blocks. She added four aces at the service line.
Christy Vaughn punched in nine kills and went 13 for 13 on the service line.
Skylar Craus added 23 assists, had two aces on the service line and dug up 12 balls.
Laila Beck pitched in six kills, had two aces at the service line and also had 13 digs.
Belinda Torres was 18 for 18 on the service line, had two aces and her serve led to 15 points. She then dug 23 balls with a number of those leading to kills.
The Broncos will be on the road Tuesday as they travel to Channelview to take on the Falcons. The ladies will open up district, Friday, Sept. 13, at home against Barbers Hill.
