Austin Bank held a ceremonial turning of the dirt on Friday at its newest location at 807 E. Houston St. in Cleveland. The groundbreaking kicked off construction of a new 4,300 square-foot facility that should be ready within the next 12-15 months.
“A few months ago, we were standing right over there and making a promise and showing you a picture of what we are going to do. Today we are here to keep that promise to the community,” said Jeff Austin III to the 100 or so supporters gathered for the groundbreaking. “We are very excited about this community. Thank you for your support. We want to be a partner in the community and are looking forward to carrying this on.”

The new bank will feature the latest in banking technology and services and will have room for five offices, two conference rooms and four drive-through lanes for teller services and an ATM.
The Cleveland branch is being managed by Mike Penry and Tasha Childress, who have a combined 60-plus years of banking experience. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Texas, Austin Bank serves East Texas with 33 locations in 24 cities and 12 counties.
Austin Bank employs 487 people and has been voted one of the “Best Companies to Work for in Texas” for 11 consecutive years.
