The City of Hardin officially proclaimed Tuesday, Nov. 12, as “Lady Hornet Volleyball Team Day” to recognize the team’s achievements as they ready for the Regional Quarterfinals against Central Heights. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Woodville High School gym.

The team, led by Coach Regina Snell, has had a perfect record this season, and the girls hope to continue that streak Tuesday night against the Lady Devils of Central Heights.

During a pep rally Tuesday afternoon, before the team boarded buses for the championship game, they were cheered on by members of the community, including Hardin Mayor Harry Johnson, who presented the official proclamation to Snell and the team.

Snell is in her 21st year as head volleyball coach at Hardin High School. During that time, she has led teams to the play-offs 18 times, District championships 16 times, Bi-District championships 17 times, Area championships 14 times, Regional Quarterfinals 12 times, Regional Semi-Finals four times and Regional Finals twice. “She never wants any of the credit for the Hardin volleyball team success that seems to be winning a district championship each year. But fact remains is that Regina Snell is one the best coaches around, and she has the numbers to prove it,” said Amanda Kersh Key in a Facebook post that was read aloud during the pep rally. “Congratulations to one of the my good friends, Coach Regina Snell, and the community of Hardin for having such a great coach and person in leading the lives of the students and athletes at Hardin High School.”

The team includes seniors Kourtney Benefield, Jaci Stelly, Carson Amyx, Jaylyn Davis and Jenna Fregia; juniors Haven Crump, Rory Perez and Fayth Adams; sophomores Georgia Vance, Bailey McQueary and Makinnley Smart; and freshmen Kylee Land, Josie Rollins, Maddy Fregia and Juliana Smart.
