Velma Irene (Buchanan) Fisher, age 95, of Liberty, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 10, 2016. She was born on June 18, 1925 in Harwood, Texas to Floyd William Buchanan and Hattie Cain Buchanan. On December 5, 1941 she married Edwin Martin Fisher. She was a member of Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. Velma enjoyed cooking and visiting with her family and friends.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin M. Fisher; son Dana Lloyd and wife Loretta Jeanette Fisher; son Kenneth Martin and granddaughter Valerie Jeanette Fisher. She is survived by son Rocky Fisher of Beach City, Texas; daughter-in-law Ann Fisher of Dayton, Texas; grandson Howard Fisher of Deer Park, Texas granddaughter Ashli Fisher; great-grandsons William and Tony Fisher; great-granddaughters Addalyn Fisher and Marcelina Podkowinski and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Brian Wood, Brandon Wood, Skip Pillsbury, Patrick Anderson, Wayne Andrew, Bobby Faneros, Mark Sanders and Eric Evans.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5pm-8pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in the chapel at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 10am at Allison Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Gruver of Heights Baptist Church officiating.
