Juanita Lorene (Baker) Carter

Juanita Lorene (Baker) Carter was born April 2, 1933, in Grannis, Arkansas, to parents, Quincy Elisha Baker and Callie Young Baker. She went to her Heavenly Home on January 27, 2024, in Porter, Texas, at the age of 90.

Juanita was a resident of Shepherd, Texas, for the past 30 years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shepherd, Texas. She loved to sew and was an excellent quilter. Juanita loved her family greatly and she will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her. 

Juanita is survived by her sons, Davy Crockett, Leland Crockett, and Robert Crockett; daughters-in-law, Mary Jo Crockett, Marilyn Crockett, and Dolly Crockett; brother, Vernon Baker; grandchildren, Dana Glass, John Crockett, David Crockett, Ryan Crockett, Robert Strack, Erica Wyatt, and Paul Carter; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be in the Pace-Stancil Chapel on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 8am-9am. Funeral Service will begin at 9am with Pastor Chester Holloway officiating. Burial will be in the Baker Cemetery in Grannis, Arkansas on Saturday, February 3, 2024, where she will be laid to rest next to Woodrow Carter.
