The Chambers County Children’s Museum will host 50 young entrepreneurs at a Children’s Business Fair on April 27, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This outdoor event is free and open to the public.
Children ages 6-14 interested in participating will apply online at ccChildrensMuseum.org. Once a child’s application is accepted, a $20 participation fee will be required.
In preparation for the Fair, young entrepreneurs will develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and create a product or service. At the Children’s Business Fair, the products or services will be made available to the public. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interaction with customers. Applications are open Feb. 1 – March 15.
Cash prizes of $50 will be awarded in each of the four age groups (6-7, 8-10, 11-12, and 13- 14) for “Most Business Potential,” “Most Creative Idea,” and “Most Impressive Presentation.”
“At the Chambers County Children’s Museum, we encourage children to imagine who and what they want to become” says Courtney Dorsey, CCCM Program Director. “The Children’s Business Fair is an excellent opportunity to expand on this by challenging young entrepreneurs in our community to go a step further and create what they are passionate about. We are excited to host this community event and look forward to fostering innovation.”
This event is sponsored by Acton Academy and the Acton Next Great Adventure, who exist to “guide you toward meaningful work and equip you with tools and relationships that help you prepare for the next big step.” Additional event sponsorships are available!
