Green, Charles Danny

Cleveland Police Department Investigators has linked three Cleveland males to the Feb. 3, 2024, double shooting of two residents at the Park View Apartments in the 100 Block of Charles Barker Ave. All three were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, around 11:50 p.m. it was reported that several suspicious individuals were standing in the parking lot of the Park View Apartments just prior to someone firing several gunshots toward one of the apartment units.  The suspicious subjects were seen fleeing on foot toward Houston St. after the shots were fired.

One victim suffered a grazing bullet wound to the left side of his head, and a second victim who was inside the apartment ran and opened the front door, returning fire toward the fleeing subjects who were still shooting at the apartment.  The second victim suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  Both victims were later transported to a Houston area hospital emergency room, treated and released.

Cleveland Police Department’s Detective K. Cooke was the lead investigator in this case. The three suspects in custody are charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony.

During the investigation, Det. Cooke was able to collect evidence and develop leads that led to the arrests of the suspects.

The alleged motive for the shooting is believed to have stemmed from an illegal transaction of drugs.

The suspects are two 16-year-old juveniles, and 17-year-old Charles Danny Green, all of Cleveland. While one of the juvenile suspects has a Cleveland address, he actually lives in Tarkington. Green’s bond was set by Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Ralph Fuller at $30,000 for each of the victims, totaling $60,000.

The Juveniles are both detained at juvenile holding facilities.

Anyone who may have additional information about this case is asked to contact the Cleveland Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 281-592-1185.

Cleveland Police Department would like to thank all law enforcement agencies who assisted in this investigation.
