Barbara Jean Leisner

Barbara Jean Leisner, devoted wife, mother and grandmother entered the gates of heaven on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born on September 28, 1936.

Barbara was a faithful prayer warrior whose greatest ministry in life was keeping all of us covered in prayers for God’s protection and guidance. Her love for her family was deep and abiding.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Fred Herman Leisner; her son, Fred “Sonny” Leisner Jr; daughter, Linda Jean Leisner; her parents, Charles Lawton Otwell and Bertha Pearlee Smith Otwell; brothers, Charles Otwell, Andrew Ray and James Otwell; sisters, Bertha Marie Otwell, Joyce Robbins, Beverly Harris and Debra Cangemi;  and son-in-law, Gregory Duane Sauls.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Shirley Diane Leisner Sauls, Cynthia Eileen Leisner Elliott and husband Ronnie and Candy Renee Leisner Yeager and husband Timothy; daughter-in-law, Cay Leisner; grandchildren, Greg Sauls Jr. (Rebekah);Leigh Ann Yeager (Jason); Ronnie Elliott Jr. (Jenna); Lisa Tutt (Josh); Levi Leisner (Christy); Cassie Wells (JD); Matthew Yeager; David Yeager (Laura) and Rebekah Lilley (Daniel);19 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family and treasured friends.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Evergreen Baptist Church. A service of remembrance will also be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Baptist Church with Pastor Dalton Currie officiating, Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen, Texas. Honoring Barbara as pallbearers will be Greg Sauls Jr., Jason Yeager, Ronnie Elliott Jr., Levi Leisner, Matthew Yeager, David Yeager, and Josh Tutt.
