Cleveland Rotary Club members gather for a group photo at the dedication of a bench at Hal McClelland Sports Complex.

Members of the Rotary Club of Cleveland, Texas, gathered on Thursday morning, Feb. 29, to officially dedicate a new bench at the Hal McClelland Sports Complex, located on the grounds of Cleveland High School.

This generous donation comes as part of the celebration of the Rotary Club’s 40th anniversary of its baseball and softball tournament, marking a significant milestone for both the community and the sports complex.

The commemorative bench is located near the entrance to the fields and is now a permanent fixture at the fields. The hope is that the bench will serve as a reminder of the Rotary Club’s commitment to the community and their enduring support for the local youth.

The dedication ceremony went on as games were being played by student-athletes. The games will continue throughout the day and wrap up with championship games on Saturday.

Tickets for the tournament are $15 for a three-day pass or $5 for a one-day pass. Tickets for children are $3 each. All tickets can be purchased at the gate.
