Stephen F. Austin recently held its second annual Careers on Wheel event. This event was organized by SFA Counselor Emily Burnett. This year Ms. Burnett was able to double the amount of vendors from the previous year. This year’s vendors included:

- The Moonwalk Place with Micahel Tuttle
- Herc Rentals with Andrew Cox
- Chachere Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Luke Chachere and technicians
- Liberty County Precinct with Clabert Menard
- Bay LTD with Matt Zaruba
- Fuseco with Scott Gann
- WC Tractor with Tyler
- DISD School Resource Officers
- DHS Auto Mechanics students with Lance Loftin
- DISD Transportation Dept.
- DISD School Nutrition Dept.



Ms. Vonnie Anderson, DISD’s Career and Technology Education (CTE) Director was one of many district administrators who attended. After seeing the event in action, Anderson stated, “Next year I would love to involve several of the DHS CTE classes such as the Auto Mechanics class along with other various CTE courses and organizations. What a great way to showcase our own high school students and their career paths. Great job SFA!”
At the conclusion of the event Ms. Burnett thanked each of the businesses that participated and invited them to next year’s event. Ms. Burnett states, “I am thrilled to see our students have the ability to see various professions and future opportunities come to life through this event.”
