
Guy Eldon Hatfield, II, age 61, a lifelong resident of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, in Baytown, Texas, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 1, 1962, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Guy Eldon and Bennie Jo Majors Hatfield. Guy lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joy.
Guy graduated from Anahuac High School in 1982 and dedicated 23 years of his professional life to working as a tool room mechanic for United Rental in Pasadena. Known for his hardworking nature, he was also a generous, family-oriented man who always put others before himself. He found joy in classic rock music and was an avid fan of Star Wars and Tigers.
Throughout his life, Guy enjoyed giving back to the community. At a young age, he volunteered as a firefighter with the Anahuac Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a beloved figure at United Rental, playing the role of Santa Claus for toy donations and spreading cheer and happiness. Guy was formerly on a bowling league in Baytown and loved traveling to Las Vegas and cruising.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Kevin Hatfield; and nephew Kevin Wylie. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 29 years, Michelle Hatfield; his sons John Hatfield and wife Lora of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Landon Hatfield and Logan Hatfield of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, and Jared LaCombe and wife Bethany of Winnie; his grandchildren Hayden, Kenlei, Macy, Elena, and Lily Gene Hatfield, and Luke and Leia LaCombe; his siblings Melinda Wylie and husband James of Rye, Texas, and Judge David Hatfield and wife Stacey of Hankamer, Texas; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Guy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac, with Brother Mark Pagels, officiating.
Guy’s legacy of love, generosity, and dedication to his family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
