Laura Katherine Blake Brunson, 67, mother of two and friend to many passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024.
Kathy was a native and lifelong resident of Liberty. Born August 25, 1956 at Yettie Kersting Memorial Hospital to parents, Bobby Dean and Shirley Ruth Beard Blake. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, Liberty. Kathy graduated from Liberty High School as a member of the Class of 1974.
Her friends described her as sweet and kind with a good sense of humor. They also said she was smart, artistic and talented. When her two sons were younger, she was a very active volunteer in church, school and community activities when help was needed.
Her parents and her husband, Terry Brunson, precede her in death. Her sons, Eli Blake Rich and Jeb David Rich, and two grandchildren, Blaine Hollis Rich and Jessyca Kay Rich, survive Kathy. Kathy is also survived by her sister, Cindy Blake Taylor and husband, Larry, of Boerne, Texas along with her niece, Katie Taylor of Austin, Texas. She leaves behind numerous relatives and friends.
Kathy will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Cooke Memorial Cemetery.
RIP Kathy. You were such a kind and lovely lady and I will miss our visits. Sending love and hugs for Eli and Jeb.
Gosh, I remember Kathy in her baby bed! We lived across the street in Tree top Terrace! I will always remember those long braids too.. I”m so sorry Cindy for the loss of your sister.
