
Gloria D. Trahan, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Orange, Texas. She was born on May 27, 1942, in Liberty, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of the late L.D. Guidry and Vernell Roberts Guidry.
Gloria was a proud and devoted St. Miles Baptist Church member, where she was baptized and rooted in her faith. She graduated with the Class of 1961 from Liberty Training High School, where she shined as both a drum major and twirler. Gloria had a love for dancing, especially enjoying the lively energy of sock hops.
A beloved sister, Gloria was a second mother to her brother Larry Mitchell. She was his protector and constant companion, ensuring he was cared for and loved.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Guidry. She is survived by her sons, Darryl D. Daniels, and Derrick W. Daniels; her brothers, Bobby Guidry of Houston, Texas, and Larry Mitchell and his wife, Linda, of Ames, Texas; and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, August 12, 2024, beginning at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas 77535. A funeral service celebrating Gloria’s life will follow at 11 a.m., with an interment at Palms Memorial Park immediately afterward.
