The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2024 Internship Program: Marina Bourgeois and Kody Sandefur.
Both students attend Liberty High School and are part of the school’s Law Enforcement Program.
Through this internship, they will gain hands-on experience, assisting with behind-the-scenes tasks and learning how various divisions within the Sheriff’s Office operate on a daily basis.
Marina Bourgeois, a senior at Liberty High School, has been a dedicated member of the varsity cross country team and varsity softball team since her freshman year.
She shared her future plans, stating, “After high school, I plan on going to college to play softball and then to law school to become a family attorney.”
Kody Sandefur, also a senior at Liberty High School, serves as the catcher for the varsity baseball team and plays defensive end for the varsity football team.
Sandefur expressed his aspirations, saying, “After high school, I plan on going to college to play baseball and taking the needed courses to become a veterinarian.”
The employees at the Sheriff’s Office are excited to support Bourgeois and Sandefur throughout their internship.
Both students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and extended a heartfelt “Thank you” to Sheriff Bobby Rader for offering this program and allowing them to participate.
