Tarkington High School celebrated a memorable homecoming night on Friday, Sept. 20, as Michael Galvan and Aubrey McBee were crowned the 2024 THS Homecoming King and Queen.
Michael Galvan, son of Michael and Brittany Galvan, has made a significant impact during his time at THS. As a standout athlete, Michael is a member of the football, basketball, and golf teams. One of his most cherished high school memories is being part of the history-making basketball team that advanced three rounds into the playoffs.
Outside of school, Michael enjoys sports, hunting, fishing, and playing cornhole with family and friends. His love for hunting has taken him on adventures across the world, including trips to Africa and Canada. Deeply rooted in the tight-knit Tarkington community, Michael values the relationships he’s built during his time at TISD.




Looking ahead, Michael plans to continue his athletic career by playing football at the college level, with ambitions of attending Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in construction science.
Aubrey McBee, daughter of Chris McBee and Josie Munoz, has been a dedicated student and athlete at THS.
She is a four-year varsity cheerleader, an All-American cheerleader, and a varsity softball player, showcasing her versatility and commitment to her school. Aubrey is also an active member of the BETA club.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and has a passion for live music, having attended an impressive 34 concerts.
Aubrey credits the supportive staff at Tarkington High School and the diverse activities offered to students for making her high school years truly unforgettable. She aspires to attend college to pursue a Juris Doctorate in Law, with the goal of becoming an attorney.
The remaining homecoming court are as follows: Brett Leonardt, Gracious Morrison, Gavin Whitmire, Maddy Kelly, Angel Marroquin and Hannah Lee as senior court members; freshman duke Jace Keith, freshman duchess Kate Bell, sophomore duke Christian Strickland, sophomore duchess Kylee Rich, junior duke Shaun McKee, and junior duchess Ashlyn Primeaux.
