Heather Ursprung has been selected to join the Superintendent’s Roundtable for Channelview ISD, where she will serve as a representative for both her campus – Hamblen Elementary – and her department.
In addition to her role in the Roundtable, Heather has also been invited by the superintendent to become a Channelview Ambassador.
As an ambassador, she will help foster positive connections between Channelview ISD educators, parents, students, and community members, promoting the district’s values and initiatives through outreach and engagement efforts.
Ursprung brings 13 years of educational experience to the table, with 12 of those years dedicated to Channelview ISD. She taught music at Cobb Elementary for nine years before moving on to serve as an assistant choir director at Alice Johnson Junior High for one year.
Currently, she is in her second year as the elementary music teacher at Hamblen Elementary School. Her contributions to her students and colleagues were recognized last school year when she was named “Teacher of the Year.”

A native of Hardin, Texas, Heather Ursprung graduated from Hardin High School and earned her music degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.

So proud of you, Heather!
