In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, technology plays a critical role in transforming teaching and learning. From interactive lessons to digital assessments, the effective use of technology enhances student engagement and understanding. Behind this successful integration are dedicated educators who are committed to leveraging digital tools to improve classroom experiences.
To honor their efforts, the Dayton ISD’s Instructional Technology Specialists have launched the “Bronco Tech Stars of the Month” program, recognizing teachers who go above and beyond in their use of technology. For the month of September, the Bronco Stars are Amanda Odom (elementary schools) and Abigail King (secondary schools).
The Bronco Tech Stars of the Month program aims to celebrate educators who demonstrate creativity, innovation, and dedication to improving student outcomes through technology.
Each month, two standout teachers are selected—one from the elementary level and one from the secondary level—based on their exemplary use of digital tools to enhance learning. These educators serve as role models, inspiring both students and colleagues by showcasing how technology can be used to create engaging, personalized, and effective learning environments.
Honorees are recognized district-wide through various platforms, including the Bronco Tech Talk Newsletter, School Board Celebrations, and featured posts on the Bronco Tech Social Media channels. Each recipient is awarded a plaque to display outside their classroom, along with additional prizes, further acknowledging their exceptional contributions.
Being named a Bronco Tech Star not only shines a spotlight on individual educators but also serves as an inspiration for others across the district to explore innovative teaching practices.
The Bronco Tech Stars of the Month program underscores the importance of recognizing and motivating educators. Through this initiative, Instructional Technology Specialists not only honor the hard work of individual teachers but also promote a culture of continuous learning and technological innovation within the school system. As technology continues to evolve, the collaboration between educators and technology specialists will be crucial in unlocking new possibilities for education, ultimately benefiting students and the broader school community.
