Hermina Lenette Roberts Chavis

Hermina Lenette Roberts Chavis, lovingly known as “Peaches,” passed away on Sept. 29 at the age of 59. Born on Jan. 9, 1965, in Liberty, Texas, Peaches lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to everyone she cherished. Her radiant smile and warm heart touched all who knew her.

Peaches graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School and attended Lee College before excelling as an office manager. She wasn’t just efficient and organized; she built meaningful relationships with the doctors, who saw her as family. Her warmth and kindness created a supportive environment, making her irreplaceable. Colleagues and physicians trusted her completely, valuing her skills and the heart she brought to the workplace.

As a daughter, Peaches brought immense pride and joy to her parents, constantly showering them with love, support, and an unbreakable bond. From a young age, she enriched their lives with beautiful memories and filled their hearts with joy.

As a mother and wife, she was the heartbeat of her family. Her love for her children, Tony Jr., Jeffrey, Angel, and Kiarra, and her husband, Wallace, was unwavering. Peaches was a guiding light, always nurturing, loving, and providing their needed strength. Her memory will continue to inspire and shape their lives.

As a sister, Peaches shared a deep, unshakable bond with her brothers, Joseph, Curtis, Chad, and her sister, Ingrid. Her love, loyalty, and sweet nature made her the glue that held them together. She also took on a loving, motherly role with her nieces and nephews, caring for them as if they were her own.

Peaches touched the lives of many friends with her generosity, kindness, and infectious, beautiful smile. She spoke softly, but her actions radiated love and compassion. Her friends knew they could always count on her, whether offering a helping hand, her hospitality, or just a listening ear. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she brightened.

Peaches is survived by her parents, Curtis and Christine Herman; husband, Wallace; sons, Tony Jr. and Jeffrey Roberts; daughters, Angel Ross and Kiarra Chavis; brothers, Joseph, Curtis (Brandy), and Chad Herman; sister, Ingrid Herman; grandchildren, Brianna, Kamorah, Kylie, Kylar, Callie, Apollo Roberts, and Aurora Lyn Hyde; honorary sister, Sonya Riggs; best friend, Carolyn Johnson; sisters-in-law, Shelia Chavis, Janice Wiltz, Hazel (David) Landry, Linda (Frankie) Robertson, Veronica (Anthony) Lacour, and Judy (Elton) Etienne; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Joseph Herman and Lee Coy Glenn; grandmothers, Lena Herman and Willie Mae Pitre; uncles, Donald Fleming and Lee Coy Glenn Jr.; and cousins, Eric Hill and Kriesha Shivers.

Though Peaches’ time with us was too short, her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever live on in our hearts.
