Angel Lagoon in Dayton hosting rodeo Nov. 8-10

Dust off your boots and grab your cowboy hat—the rodeo is coming to Dayton for one weekend only at Angel Lagoon. From Friday, Nov. 8, to Sunday, Nov. 10, Angel Lagoon will host the River Ranch Stampede Rodeo and PRCA Extreme Bulls Tour, offering top-tier rodeo action and plenty of family-friendly entertainment.

The weekend kicks off with two days of classic rodeo events, including Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-down Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, and Bullfighting. In addition to the thrilling rodeo competitions, attendees can enjoy food trucks, a beer garden, vendor booths, and activities for children.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, the PRCA Extreme Bulls Tour takes center stage, featuring 40 of the top bull riders in the country competing for over $25,000 in prize money. Mutton Busting will also be part of the lineup, giving kids a chance to showcase their rodeo skills.

The full schedule for the weekend includes:

  • Friday, Nov. 8: Gates open at 6 p.m., rodeo starts at 7 p.m., followed by a Chancy Williams concert at 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 9: Gates open at 6 p.m., rodeo starts at 7 p.m., with a Kevin Fowler concert at 9:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 10: Gates open at 2 p.m., Mutton Busting at 2:30 p.m., and Bull Riding at 4 p.m.

All rodeo tickets include access to Angel Lagoon’s signature lagoon for swimming, making it a fun-filled weekend for all ages.

  1. Rodeos are condemned for their inherent cruelty by nearly every animal welfare organization on the planet. Rodeo is mostly hype, having little to do with ranching. Rodeo is not a “sport”–that term denotes willing, equally-matched participants. Rodeo does not qualify. Rather, it’s a macho exercise in DOMINATION. It needs to end. The United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales) outlawed all of rodeo back in 1934. Can the U.S. be far behinid?
