Dayton MCJROTC shines at ‘Back in the Saddle’ drill competition

The Dayton MCJROTC recently excelled at the “Back in the Saddle” Drill Competition, hosted by Ridge Point High School MCJROTC, with 10 schools competing. Dayton’s cadets brought home an impressive collection of trophies across multiple events.

Awards

Unarmed Division:

  • 2nd Place Overall
  • 1st Place – Unarmed Regulation
  • 2nd Place – Unarmed Color Guard
  • 2nd Place – Unarmed Exhibition
  • 3rd Place – Unarmed Inspection

Armed Division:

  • 3rd Place Overall

Physical Fitness:

  • 3rd Place

Under the direction of 1st Sgt Stephen Garcia and 1st Sgt Roy Matthews, the Dayton MCJROTC cadets achieved an impressive 2nd place overall in the competition.

Dr. Jessica Johnson, Superintendent, shared her pride in the cadets’ achievements: “We are extremely proud of this program. Each year they continue to improve the MCJROTC program. Twelve Cadets were selected to attend various Leadership Camps this summer, and they are very involved in numerous events throughout our community. They have more drill meets this year, along with a special Veterans Day Celebration coming up to honor those who have served their country. Again, we are proud of our Cadets and MCJROTC program.”
