Lone Star College-Kingwood to host ‘Leave a Legacy’ summit on Nov. 9

Lone Star College-Kingwood on Saturday, Nov. 9, will welcome the community for the “Leave a Legacy” summit, an event hosted by LSC-Kingwood’s Mi Familia, Mi Futuro program.

Set to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus, the summit offers families a chance to gain valuable knowledge, access resources, and connect with experts and leaders on topics central to family and future planning.

The event will cover a range of essential topics, including:

  • Housing Assistance
  • Disaster Relief
  • Health Tips
  • College Information and Career Programs
  • Financial Aid

In addition, the Fundación Latino Americana de Acción Social (FLAS) will offer free health screenings, including tests for fatty liver and hepatitis C, supporting community wellness.

A special guest appearance by Jason “Sundance” Head, Season 11 winner of The Voice, adds to the excitement. Head will perform and share his inspiring journey, highlighting how he’s making a difference in his community.

Dr. Melissa Gonzalez, president of LSC-Kingwood, shared that the summit is not only an opportunity for families to learn from one another but also a meaningful way to consider the legacies they are building for future generations. This event promises to be both educational and inspiring, and the community is encouraged to attend and be part of this celebration of family and future.
