Rhonda Sheryl Ely

Rhonda Sheryl Ely, age 70, of Devers, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024. She was born on Jan. 2, 1954, in El Dorado, Ark., to the late Billy Wayne and Elizabeth Ann Hammons Davis. Rhonda was a proud graduate of Strong High School, class of 1972.

After completing her studies to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Rhonda devoted twenty years of her life to the field of oncology at Ascension St. Vincent in Birmingham, Alabama. Later, she extended her compassionate care as a home health nurse with Angels Above Us in Liberty, Texas. Rhonda’s nursing career was a testament to her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others.

Rhonda was a vibrant and loving woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved working in her yard, nurturing her plants and flowers, and could often be found shopping or planning her next cruise adventure. Rhonda found happiness in almost everything, bringing warmth, beauty, and kindness to those around her. She was known for putting others before herself and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Billy Wayne and Elizabeth Ann Davis; her sons, Mark Ely and Timothy Clarence Ely; and her granddaughter, Kelse Ely Kendrick. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, Michael Terry Ely; her cherished son Shane Ely; her numerous grandchildren; her brothers, Randy and Ronnie Davis; and a host of other loving relatives and friends who will remember her with love and admiration.

As per Rhonda’s wishes, she will be cremated, and her memory cherished as a reflection of her kind and giving spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
