In recognition of their commitment to engaging students through purposeful digital activities, Stephen F. Austin Kindergarten teacher Diamond Johnson and Wilson Junior High teacher Hannah Brown have been named November’s Bronco Tech Stars.
According to a statement from Dayton ISD, “These educators have brought creativity, enthusiasm, and innovation to their classrooms, transforming learning experiences with technology and inspiring students of all ages. Their recognition shines a spotlight on how digital activities can be tailored to meet the unique needs of learners at any grade level, from sparking curiosity in kindergartners to fostering independence in junior high students.”
Chosen for their skill in engaging students with developmentally appropriate and academically enriching digital activities, these teachers exemplify how technology can enhance the classroom experience. Instructional Technology Specialists recognized them for their innovation, commitment to student engagement, and the positive impact they have on their school communities.


Aimee Chachere, DISD’s Elementary Instructional Technology Specialist, shared, “Mrs. Johnson is having a blast teaching kindergarten at SFA, and her little ones are absolutely thrilled with all the fun technology they get to use during lessons! This month, they explored Nearpod for engaging formative assessments and even participated in a Voting lesson using Google Forms. It’s clear that her students are enjoying the learning experience!”
Secondary Instructional Technology Specialist Alicia Chachere noted, “Ms. Brown brings language arts to life for her students every day at WJH. She incorporates interactive digital tools like Google Forms, Wizer.me, Teacher Made, and webquests, transforming traditional lessons into engaging activities that make learning exciting. Her innovative approach keeps students captivated, encouraging them to participate actively and think critically.”
The DISD statement continues, “Both teachers demonstrate how technology can enhance traditional teaching methods, making learning experiences more dynamic and personalized. By thoughtfully integrating digital tools, they inspire their students to explore, ask questions, and collaborate, creating a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.”
Their recognition as Bronco Tech Stars encourages other teachers to explore digital activities tailored to their students’ needs and interests. These educators serve as role models for effective technology integration, showing colleagues how digital tools can boost student engagement and growth. The Bronco Tech Star award reinforces the district’s dedication to celebrating excellence and innovation in teaching, cultivating a culture where teachers feel encouraged to try new approaches.
