The Liberty County Precinct 6 Constable’s Office has been recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as a member of the Missing Kids Readiness Program (MKRP). This achievement highlights the department’s commitment to child safety and its preparedness to respond effectively to incidents involving missing or exploited children.
The MKRP is a nationwide program that equips law enforcement agencies and 911 call centers with the knowledge, training, and resources needed to handle missing child cases efficiently. Recognized agencies meet stringent requirements, including adopting policies based on NCMEC’s best practices and completing comprehensive training programs.
To achieve this recognition, the Liberty County Pct. 6 Constable’s Office:
- Partnered with NCMEC to align its missing child response policies with the organization’s model standards for law enforcement.
- Ensured that Constable Zack Harkness and all deputies completed the required training to enhance their preparedness for these critical situations.
“Earning recognition from the Missing Kids Readiness Program reinforces our commitment to the safety of children in Liberty County. By investing in the necessary training and adopting best practices, we are better equipped to act swiftly and effectively when a child’s safety is at risk,” Harkness stated.
This recognition signifies that the Liberty County Pct. 6 Constable’s Office is fully prepared to respond comprehensively and professionally to missing child cases, where every second matters.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children commended the Liberty County Pct. 6 Constable’s Office for its dedication and leadership in achieving this distinction.
