A high-speed chase in the Plum Grove area Tuesday night, Dec. 10, ended in tragedy, resulting in the death of an Ace woman and the arrest of a Livingston man. The incident began around 8:34 p.m. when a Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted a traffic stop on FM 1010 after discovering a license plate on a pickup truck did not match the vehicle.
According to Capt. David Meyers, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, the driver of the truck initially slowed down as if to comply but then turned onto CR 340 and accelerated, attempting to evade the deputy. The pursuit reportedly reached speeds of up to 75 miles per hour as the vehicle turned onto CR 3405.
The chase came to a tragic end when the truck turned down a private driveway, drove through a chained gate, and continued along a muddy road. The driver lost control after hitting a small washout, causing the passenger to be ejected from the vehicle. The truck came to rest on top of the ejected passenger, according to Myers.

The driver, identified as Scott Ray Addison, 48, of Livingston, reportedly fled the scene but was found approximately 40 minutes later by a K-9 unit. Addison was discovered hiding in a drainage ditch with water up to his neck. He was medically evaluated on-site and transported to Kingwood ER for minor injuries. LCSO provided security at the hospital to prevent any escape attempts. After his release, Addison was booked into the Liberty County Jail on a murder charge.
He is being held on a $1 million bond.
The passenger, identified as Sandra Kay Bradley, 38, of Ace, believed to be Addison’s girlfriend, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the chase was later determined to have been reported stolen out of Houston.
Pct. 6 Justice of the Peace Ralph Fuller conducted an inquest at the scene and made the pronouncement of death.
Texas DPS troopers are assisting LCSO in the investigation.
