
Joseph Addam “Joe” Cody, 52, of Anahuac, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at his residence.
Joe was born Aug. 21, 1972, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to parents; Robert “Robbie” and Janie McPherson Cody, and has resided in Anahuac for the past four years with his wife and daughter. He was a US Army Veteran, received his bachelor’s degree in engineering, and was employed at Contech Control Services, Inc. in La Porte, Texas. Joe traveled the world with work and spoke of his adventures often. He was a gentle giant, who loved animals of all kinds. He loved traveling, fast cars, watching football, and learning the latest dance move from his daughter and niece. He shared his love of Harry Potter with his family.
Mr. Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents: E.E. and Mary McPherson. He is survived by the love of his life: Hannah McGraw Cody, children: Chelsea Cody, Christopher Bostick and family, and Addam Cody, wife Michele and their son, Miles, parents: Robert “Robbie” and Janie McPherson Cody, brother: Chris Cody, niece: Ava Grace Cody, aunt: Darlene McPherson Pagels, uncle: Mark Pagels, cousins: Kristin, Trent, Kyla, and Tyler Hart, Gramie Carolyn D’Arcy Lewis, in-laws: Kenneth and Debbie McGraw, Troy and Kaitlin Buhler, numerous other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life for Joseph Cody will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 11 a.m., with the Christian Community Fellowship at 442 Eagle Rd., Oak Island, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made in his memory to the Chambers County Veterans Association.
