Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital announced the birth of its first baby of the New Year.
The joyous event took place at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, marking a bright new beginning to the year for the family. Baby Ariely Yarleth Contreras, a girl, arrived weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces and measuring 19 inches long.
Parents Brenda Peralta and Ruben Contreras of Baytown are both elated about the birth of their new daughter and thank the entire health care team for providing great care throughout the labor and delivery process.
The family also received a special gift basket prepared by the labor and delivery department nurses in honor of them delivering the first baby of the year.
