Elbert Stokes “Pappy” Bryant

Elbert Stokes “Pappy” Bryant, 87, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, in Liberty.

Pappy was born March 16, 1937, in Emerson, Ark., to parents; Norman Stokes and Zelma Baker Bryant, a former resident of Daisetta, and longtime resident of the Liberty/Dayton area. He was a mechanic for oilfield services; while also welding, tool pushing, and a rig runner. Pappy attended the Community Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, working on cars, and helping others.

Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 57 years: Caroline Burnett Bryant, sons: Elbert Bryant and Raymond Bryant, grandson: Lawrence Hughes, and all of his siblings. 

He is survived by his daughter: Jacqueline Burton, sons: Charles Bryant and companion Searphine Sultan, grandchildren: Ambrose Costanzo and wife Eden, Nacole Costanzo, and Jessica Landers and husband Jonathan, great-grandchild: Lainey Landers, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
