Laddie was born in Mamou, La., on June 4, 1936, the first of twins to Harris “Jack” and Easter Ceaser. Laddie grew up on a farm where they grew cotton, numerous vegetables, and had their own livestock. She had several siblings, and they could all dance well.
Laddie married Loris Fontenot on Nov. 29, 1952. They moved to Raywood, Texas, that day. Life was very different for Laddie in Texas. She had to learn the English language, and the ways of Texans. Laddie and Loris were blessed with three children, Lawrence, Paul, and Loretta. They strived to raise their children in a Christian way, with good morals, and work ethics.
She quickly became involved in Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served for 46 years in various organizations, teaching CCD, and leading the rosary.
Laddie was also an excellent seamstress, gardner, and cook. Her greatest entertainment was dancing. She loved going to a good La La.
After the flood of 1994, Laddie and Loris began making plans to leave Raywood. In November 2000, they moved to Liberty.
Laddie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Loris J. Fontenot and parents Harris and Easter Ceaser, as well as several siblings. Laddie leaves behind her children to mourn her loss Lawrence (Wanda), Paul (Myra), Loretta (Tom). Her siblings Haddie (Martel) Goodly, and Alice Harmon.
Her grandchildren Amie (Tim) Keamanee, Jennifer (William) Rodriguez, Jeremy Broussard, Kevin Fontenot, Jonathan (Emily) Fontenot, Jamie (Whitney) Broussard, Ellen (Mychal) English, and Paul Brett (Bria) Fontenot.
Laddie also leaves behind fourteen great grandchildren who loved her dearly.
