In January 2025, the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, led by the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, arrested two registered sex offenders.
The investigation was supported by the Montgomery County Precincts 2, 4, and 5 Constable’s Offices, as well as the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
The first arrest was Blane Paul Sneed, 37, of Amarillo, Texas. Sneed was taken into custody after engaging in explicit online conversations he believed were with a minor. An arrest warrant was issued, and Sneed was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service.

The second arrest was Asaf Reyes, 28, of Houston, Texas. Reyes was arrested for allegedly engaging in explicit conversations he believed were with a minor. An arrest warrant was obtained, and he was also apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Reyes was previously arrested in 2021 by the same task force. He was charged and convicted of promotion of child pornography, served his sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and was released in September 2024.
According to a statement from Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable Philip Cash, effective teamwork among the departments is instrumental in protecting children in Montgomery County.
“By collaborating and sharing resources, these offices enhance their collective ability to monitor online activities, conduct thorough investigations, and apprehend suspected predators. This united effort ensures that no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of justice for victims and the prevention of future crimes. This teamwork not only strengthens the safety net for our children but also sends a clear message to potential offenders that Montgomery County is committed to vigilant and comprehensive law enforcement,” the statement reads.
