Tarkington ranch donates micro bull to support flood victims in Kerrville

Christopher Moody, co-owner of CLM Mini Ranch in Tarkington, holds Boone, a micro Longhorn/Hereford calf donated to help a Kerrville family recover from flood damage. Moody and his wife, Corrie, specialize in raising miniature cattle.

A tiny bull calf with a big purpose is at the heart of a community effort to help a Kerrville family recover from devastating floods.

Boone, a micro Longhorn/Hereford cross born June 13, 2025, is being raffled off to raise funds for Sarah Howard, Andrew Morales and their four children: Brayden, 15; Maximus, 11; Harley, 4; and Olivia, 2.

The family lost everything when their home was destroyed in the flooding. Only the foundation remains.

Andrew Morales, a father of four and a local hero, helped rescue neighbors during the disaster. Now, the community is stepping up to return the kindness.

Boone was generously donated by CLM Mini Ranch, owned by Corrie and Christopher Moody of Tarkington. The Moodys specialize in raising high-quality micro and miniature cattle known for their beauty and small stature.

Boone is expected to grow no taller than 36 inches and carries the same friendly temperament that makes CLM’s calves suitable for both family farms and therapy environments.

Sarah Howard and Andrew Morales of Kerrville, with their children Brayden, 15; Maximus, 11; Harley, 4; and Olivia, 2. The family lost their home in recent flooding and are receiving community support through a fundraising raffle featuring a donated micro bull calf.

“We’ve all been so devastated with everything going on in the Hill Country. This is how we can help,” said Corrie Moody.

The raffle for Boone runs until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30. Each entry is $25, or five entries may be purchased for $100.

How to enter:

Participants should include “Boone” or “bull” in the payment note. Names will be listed in the original post on the CLM Mini Ranch LLC Facebook page in the order entries are received.

The winner of Boone will be vetted to ensure they have the housing, equipment and resources necessary to properly care for a micro bull calf.

According to the Moodys, if the winner cannot provide the appropriate environment, Boone will be donated to a special needs farm that serves autistic children, individuals with disabilities or veterans.

CLM Mini Ranch is a family-run operation. Corrie and Christopher Moody have spent years raising gentle, beautiful calves with strong genetics. Their animals bring joy to families and farms across Texas.
