Alishia Jones

Alishia Jones, 51, of Beaumont, Texas, peacefully transitioned, on Aug. 11, 2025, leaving behind an irreplaceable void. 

Services are Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at House of Prayer Baptist Church, 3350 Washington Blvd., Beaumont, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Green Lawn II Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Alishia Danielle Jones was born on June 3, 1974, to Rev. Paul and Lynda Jones in Beaumont, Texas. She was raised with strong values and deep love for her family. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she sung in the choir and ushered. Alishia graduated from Central Senior High School in May 1992.

Alishia married Christopher Sorrell Sr. Together, they welcomed two sons, Christopher Sorrell Jr. and Javon Sorrell, whom she cherished deeply and took immense joy in raising. Her family continued to grow with the arrival of her beloved grandson, Amari Sorrell, and two stepsons, Dominique and Nicholas.

Alishia dedicated herself to personal growth and professional excellence. She earned her certification in Medical Billing & Coding and held various positions throughout her career, most recently serving as a Property Manager for the ITEX Group. Outside of work, sewing was a favorite pastime, though nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her sons and grandson.

Alishia was known for her heart of gold. Even throughout her health battles, she remained gracious, compassionate, and loving, touching the lives of all who knew her. She was known to be more concerned about others than herself. Her smile, kindness, and spirit left a lasting impression on her family, friends, and all those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Stephanie Gail Jones Nobles and Shaterica Decima Jones. Alishia’s memory will be cherished by her parents, Rev. Paul and Lynda Jones; her sons, Christopher Sorrell Jr., Javon Sorrell, Dominique Taylor & Nicholas Alexander Taylor Sorrell; grandkids, Amari Sorrell, Santanna Amir Sorrell Taylor, & La’Nya Alexandria Sorrell Taylor; sisters, Clarissa Hebert (James), Anita Jones, Belinda Jones, and Dawanna Jones; brothers, Anthony Jones, Terrence Jones, Landon Jones Sr. (Monica); special goddaughter, Dashia Wilson, her best friend, Natasha Duhon (Charels); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
